5 Completely True Science-Backed Facts About Dogs

If you’re like me, then you have a dog. Or two. Or…seventeen. No matter. My extensive experience with dogs has given me a huge amount of science*-backed knowledge that I’m going to share with you. Aren’t you lucky!

Here are 5 of my favorite totally true facts about dogs. Share with all your dog-loving friends (which, let’s be real, if your friend doesn’t have a dog then they’re not really your friend).

#1: When dogs sneeze, it means ‘I love you’

This one’s probably obvious — I mean, any good dog owner would be able to tell you this — but I’m spelling it out anyway. Whenever I play with my dogs, they’re always sneezing all over me. Clearly they love me, and they always sneeze when I come near, so that means ‘Daddy, I love you.’ My little experiment showed that whenever my dogs are within six feet of me, they sneeze, and then they come in for pets. Boom. Science.

My sixth ex-wife tells me it’s because of the Pine Sol I use as cologne, but she’s obviously wrong. Hence why she’s my ex.

#2: When dogs hit you with their paws, they’re petting you
