Kristin, this is an excellent article--thanks very much for sharing your thoughts! I've been guilty of jumping on the productivity bandwagon, too. I know that most of my current productivity is possible because I have others in my household who do most of the cooking, errands, and household management. When my mom was sick with COVID for a month, all of her responsibilities fell to me. For that time, productivity meant getting three meals on the table a day, changing sheets, doing laundry, going to the grocery store, taking care of the dogs, and, if I had time leftover, pursuing some of my own projects. Truly understanding the work that others do to enable our productivity (and, at times, switching roles so they can have their own productive time, too!) can only make us better, more thoughtful people.
